Baumann, Adam Kessel, Pat Powers, William Swanson, David Horsley, Robert H. Cochrane, and Jules Brulatour. Universal studios are the 4th oldest studio in the world. Seven of Universal Studios' films; Jaws (1975), E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), Jurassic Park(1993), Despicable Me 2 (2013), Furious 7 (2015), Jurassic World (2015) and Minions (2015) achieved box office records, with the first three (which were directed by Steven Spielberg) all becoming the highest-grossing film at the time of their initial releases. Universal started by owning a handful of Nickelodeon’s or Picture Houses, they soon became disgruntled with paying edison for films so decided to produce their own. On March 14, 1912, Laemmle opened the world's largest motion picture production facility, Universal City Studios, on a 230-acre (0.9-km²) converted farm just over the Cahuenga Pass from Hollywood. In 1928 Laemmle made his son Carl Jr head of Universal for his 21st birthday present, Laemmle also employed his family and original Universal employees consisted of his family members. Universal Studios Vs Nintendo Famously in the 1980’s there was a court case between Nintendo’s Donkey Kong and Universals King Kong for infringement of copyright because Universal thought that Nintendo was illegally copying King Kong. Sadly for Universal they lost and had to pay Nintendo 1.8 Million Dollars. Universal wanted to use this case to muscle their way into the gaming industry but they lost. They started called Universal interactive which produced games such as Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot (1998 - 1996 respectively). They were later acquired by Vivendi in 2000 which then became Vivendi Universal Games. The universal theme park opened on the 7th of April 1990, the opening of the park was plagued by long cues as 10000 people turned up but the was only 1 road in and there was only 12 attractions in operation. Universal also opened a secondary theme park called Universal Islands of Adventure. Universal also had recording studios in the park which many television and film studios use such as Nickelodeon for Kenan and Kel. Back in 2008 the King Kong ride that accompanied the studio tour went up in flames and got replaced by King Kong 360 3D in 2010. For 100 years, Universal Studios has created and distributed theatrical and non-theatrical filmed entertainment. Their vast cinematic library includes classics such as Jaws, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, the Jurassic Park series, and Mamma Mia!; comedies like Bruce Almighty, The 40-Year-Old Virgin. In 2015, Universal studios offer us, films like Furious 7, Minions, Steve Jobs. And still in this year they got some films to brand new in December like a Krampus and Sisters. On the other hand, we can make sure that Reboots, videogame adaptations, and a few long awaited sequels are all due for release next year...
